A lot of you already know this, but yesterday Toobz-Free was approved and found its way to the App Store! It was great to see that we had an approval after just a week — hopefully we’re back on that schedule.
I’ve had a report of two minor bugs which probably affect Toobz in addition to Toobz-Free. The more annoying of the two is if you hit the ’start water’ button right as the timer reaches 0:00. The water will never start and you’ll be stuck being able to drop in any Toobz that you want without any water. At that point you’ll need to reset the game (tap the ‘Info’ button).
The other bug is if you have water spill when the timer is blinking red. The next game will start with a red blinking timer, even though you’re not under 10 seconds yet. Luckily that goes away if you advance to the next level.
I’ll get these bugs fixed and submitted as soon as I can, and see what else I can drop into the release, as well.
Thanks for playing Toobz!
Jason

How does the scoring work?
I’ve been playing Medium and the scoring is definitely not as described in the options section. It looks like maybe 75 for water enters spot, 150 for level complete, 4 for each second remaining, -15 for each spot replaced, and I can’t figure out water off the side.

Hi Ben!
Thank you for the comment. You are definitely correct, thank you for pointing that out! In the settings text I didn’t apply a level multiplier. 75 points is correct when the water enters a spot, but the remaining values in the settings text need to be multiplied by 3. Similarly, the Hard setting has a multiplier of 4.
I’m in the midst of another update and I’ll get these scoring updates in with it.
Thanks again!

Hi Karl,
Are your scores not getting updated in the application, or being posted to Twitter? I will do some more testing with ToobzFree to see why scores may not be working. If you don’t mind losing your current high scores you can delete them all with the trash can icon in the bottom-right of the high scores page. This may reset things so that new scores are saved.
Thanks for the report — I’ll post if I find anything and please let me know if you, as well.

Hi, I’ve run into the red alert issue, nice to hear it’ll be fixed soon.
Why I’m here is that I’like to say thank you for both the free and the paid app. I do enjoy them though after some days with the “pro” version I feel that I prefer the light one as more interesting (get more points until level 5) while it is not getting more difficult or challenging with higher levels. One can very easily find tubes to get to the next level in time. Make more difficult with higher levels, please.

Hi Stefan,
It’s funny you should mention enjoying the Free version even with Toobz — as I was testing ToobzFree, I found myself enjoying the level limit, too. It makes it a bit of a challenge to try and get as many points as possible with just five levels to play. I’ve been thinking about adding a new game type to Toobz where you can set a level limit but I’m also working on some ways to make the higher levels more difficult.
Thanks for the comment!

Would be a nice feature to be able to pause the water if you start it manually. Once paused the timer would continue to count down

Hello, I’m on 1.3 and every time I start the game, I have to select Hard again. I would like to see the game remember your last setting and keep it. This appears to be the situation in both Toobz and Toobz-free. Thanks.
